the position as a technical co-worker on a missionarys station offered multiple possibilities of insight into the culture, climate and customs of this fascinating country to me. the challenge i encountered (the handling of other building material than those normally encountered in germany, the relaxed way of life and work of the brazilians and last but not least the climate) enlarged my horizon considerably. i was deeply impressed by most brazilians joyful way of life in spite of their often miserable living conditions.
